Eating Disorder Relapse Prevention and Recovery

Eating disorders can manifest in all ages – from young children to adults – and can vary in severity and required treatment. We have established the RecoverED (RED) Clinic which specializes in eating disorder relapse prevention and recovery across the full spectrum of eating disorders. There is hope for lasting freedom at RED Clinic. Visit the full RED Clinic Website here.

What Makes RecoverED Clinic Different?

The RecoverED Clinic ensures a wholesome and well-rounded treatment and total transformation by having a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, therapists, and dietitians under one roof. This level of care and coordination is usually only seen within the hospital setting – until now. The RED Clinic consists of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing comprehensive outpatient services to the whole spectrum of eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Atypical Anorexia, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder [ARFID], and Binge Eating Disorder [BED]). We serve all ages and utilize evidence-based treatment to focus on recovery and relapse prevention.

We utilize the latest research and treatment techniques while focusing on preventing hospitalization and achieving recovery. Our approach includes the direct services, such as psychological assessment, nutrition services, and therapies, as well as the indirect services, such as weekly staff meetings, treatment team collaboration, and assistance with accommodations at work or school to ensure appropriate care. We want our clients to not just learn how to differentiate from the ED, but be able to meet their life goals according to what they value apart from the ED (e.g. graduating from college, joining the marines or having a family of their own one day).

Constant, Consistent Support

The RecoverED Clinic follows Next STEPS Worldwide’s enrollment process [make the word enrollment click through to the Enrollment page of NSWW], but also includes analyzing bloodwork results as well as a meeting with a registered dietitian. The focus of RED Clinic is to help each client build a healthy relationship with food while discovering the underlying or root causes of disordered eating and learning coping techniques and strategies to remain in recovery. A cornerstone of The RecoverED Clinic is the all-inclusivity of care provided here; we are assembled as a treatment team under one roof with one goal in mind – your freedom. Throughout our care, we work to improve your body image and gain control as the ED has less and less control throughout the treatment process. We know an Eating Disorder is difficult to discuss, so we guide you through the process of discovering how this ED has become complex as it can be integral to both your identity and how you function – but we know it doesn’t have to remain so. Besides therapeutic treatment for ED, we provide nutrition group, which includes meal support, nutrition education, mindful eating skills, and education regarding the intricate role that nutrition has on mind/body health. During treatment, clients can participate in various nutrition outings to learn grocery shopping, experience healthy dining out, and engage in body image exercises.

Individual, Family, and Group Therapy

Individual, family and group therapy explore the life issues that are interconnected to disordered eating and help each client understand the dynamic relationship between the two. During individual therapy, clients have an opportunity to experience unconditional care and guidance from a therapist skilled in the recovery process. Because the family can support recovery, family therapy specifically provides tools and support to the family members that the client relies on. Group therapy provides a safe and nurturing place for clients to find commonalities with others dealing with disordered eating and gain support from those that share similar experiences.
